THE VEHICLE
The E38 BMW 7 series was unveiled in 1995 and marked just how advanced BMW was against any other car manufacturer.Â
Packed with a list of endless options the 750iL was the ultimate luxury saloon for its era and was often the choice of many VIP’s at the time.Â
With an impressive 322BHP, the naturally aspirated 5.4 litre 24v V12 petrol engine has a remarkable speed of 0-62mph in 6.6 seconds and a top speed of 155mph! Given the sheer size of the car with a weight of 2110kg the stats are staggering.Â
Averaging 20.5mpg this car is the ultimate cruiser car where you can sit back and enjoy short or long distance journeys in pure luxury.Â
The 750iL was made even more iconic by being featured in the 18th James Bond movie ‘Tomorrow Never Dies’ starring Pierce Brosnan and marked itself in Hollywood history of which a clip can be seen below.Â
This particular example is very similar in terms of colour to the one used in the movie and is celebrity owned making it probably one of the best examples left in the UK.Â
WALK AROUND VIDEO
Every detail of this car can be seen in the video below along with a clip from ‘Tomorrow Never Dies’ showcasing the 7 series in all it’s glory.Â
SERVICE HISTORY
First registered on the 28th March 1996 the service history of this car has to be one of the most impressive we have ever seen.Â
This car has 1 owner from new and is backed with MOT’s since 1999, along with main dealer history and BMW specialist service history with invoices in excess of £55,000.Â
The most recent service was completed on 11/11/20 at a cost of £3574.52 where no expense was spared and 4 brand new Michelin tyres were fitted. Â
Even more remarkable is the fact that the car still has 4 keys (including the skeleton key), the owner’s manual, service history book, original tool kit and spare wheel present in pretty much the same condition it came from the factory.Â
All the paperwork is presented in the documents section below and you will quickly be able to see that the owner of this car has really looked after it in every way possible, spending whatever was required to keep it in exemplary condition.Â
BODYWORK & INTERIOR
For a car that is 25 years old this example is in almost immaculate condition with perhaps one or two stone chips, but apart from that the car is very clean inside and outside having spent its entire life in a heated garage.Â
The leather interior can be described as extremely clean and shows little sign of any use in the front and back.Â
The E38 7 series was the first European car to have satellite navigation, produced in conjunction with Phillips they named the in-car entertainment system the I-bus and the list of factory options for this car sets it apart from even modern cars today.Â
BMW packed this car with many extras including:
- Heated front and rear seats
- Sunroof
- Xenon headlights
- DSC (Dynamic Stability Control)
- Parking sensors for both front and rear
- Rear privacy curtains
- Front and Rear telephones
- Rear folding tables
- Leather dashboard
- Sunroof (fully functional)
- Electric memory front and rear seats
- Air Conditioning (fully functioning)
WHEELS
All 4 wheels in this car have no marks and have the added benefit of 4 brand new Michelin tyres fitted.Â
VERDICT
This car presents a real opportunity to any BMW enthusiast to own an iconic car that is museum worthy with its celebrity owned status and that bullet proof V12 engine.
In our opinion the value of this car will only continue to increase and we hope it end’s up in the right hands for many years to come. Car’s of today are just not built this way and this model would make a superb addition to anyone’s collection. Â
