Morgan Plus 4 Flat Rad
- Essex, United Kingdom
- 3% (minimum £300, maximum £3000)
Manufactured on 19th July 1951 this Morgan Plus 4 Flat Rad is one that has plenty of character and history to match.
Supplied with a Four-cylinder 2088cc Vanguard engine this specific example was successfully campaigned in Australia by Gavin Sandford-Morgan who modified the steering rack and manifold to be more competitive (proof of which can be seen in the document section) as per ‘Morgan’s in Oz’ a history of Morgan sports cars in competition in Australia from 1928 to 1974.
The car was sympathetically restored in Australia, retaining a lovely patina prior to being imported to the UK in April 2012, all of which has been documented and pictures can be seen in the document section below.
Since its time in the UK the car has been serviced by Brands Hatch Morgan and has a very comprehensive well kept folder of all receipts and work carried out by the right people.
A very ‘usable classic’ the Plus Four has full weather protection and is supplied with a tonneau cover and aero screens.

For anyone curious, please go through the document section below and see some of the paperwork provided with the car.
Backed with a nice folder of paperwork from its early days this Morgan has clearly been looked after all by all of its owners and serviced by Brands Hatch Morgan in the UK.
BODYWORK & INTERIOR
Finished in Green with black leather seats and tan colour door cards – the interior presents well with only one real noticeable imperfection to the drivers seat which could be repaired fairly easily by the new owner.
The wooden dash is complimented perfectly with a black bakelite banjo steering wheel that matches the black seats and the original Morgan clocks and gauges all work.
To the rear of the car there are 2 additional tyres mounted and in addition the seller will include the private plate ‘106 YUM’ with the sale of the car.
Sitting on Avon tyres with steel pressed vented wheels there is plenty of tread on all of the tyres. The chrome hubcaps are in good order and show no signs of corrosion or rust.
Priced very sensibly in comparison to recent sales made elsewhere – this honest and charismatic example of a timeless gem deserves to go to a good home and will bring plenty of joy to the new owner.
